Crafty Manners

Crafty Manners

Whenever a friend or relative gives your child anything, get into the habit of creating a crafty ‘Thank-you’ card with your toddler.  Pip is into collages these days, so we recently put together a ‘nature collage’ for her cousin Sheryl to thank her for some lovely books.  I took a sturdy piece of card outside with some glue, and Pip and I collected leaves, feathers, gravel, flower-petals and grass for our collage.

Pip was thrilled about using the glue by herself and she loved arranging the bits of nature on the page.  A few days later she was proudly presenting her thank you collage to her cousin.  It was lovely!  It reinforces good manners, and also teaches children how much people appreciate thoughtfulness.  (I should’ve taken a photo before we gave that one away!)
