Pip and I don’t have a lot of one-on-one time these days, which makes our ritualistic bedtime story a very special time for both of us. Typically, we read a book together and then wrap our arms around each other for a good, long cuddle. After reading to her one night, she snuggled into me and cooed, “Mama, I have so much love for you that there’s no room left in my heart for anybody else.”
“Honey, that’s very sweet, but you love many people; I know that you have plenty of room in your heart.”
“No I don’t Mama. You take up my whole heart. The other people are in my lungs.”
